Since there’s nothing in you to be resolved, no resolutions are needed.
Let us collectively and individually sigh a sigh of relief!
Something to consider this Christmas Season:
The original Roman calendar had only 10 months. The months of winter weren’t counted. The new year commenced with spring.
Now isn’t a time for bursting forth from the soil of your life. It’s a time to winter.
Nature is inviting you to tend to your inner hearth.
Wintering in winter… * doesn’t have a destination that has yet to be reached, achieved * knows its generative fullness forever resides on the inside beneath the gaze of watchful eyes * claims that you already are and always have been the complete intertwining of spirit and matter, the holy wholeness that is called human * invites you to claim and proclaim that you are never without God in you, as you, and for you(!) * invites you to focus and refocus your thoughts day in and day out on that truth as an act of devotion and love, as a means of birthing a new world first inside and then out
The only question wintering asks is this: What would help you connect more deeply to your divine core?
Upon waking on the 1st of January, I will share the first of many voice messages with a friend. It’ll include a prayer and manifesto that I’ve written that reflect who I am and whose I am.
This will kick off a 40 day devotional practice(!) of declaring out loud my true nature, my Divine Pride, my Christ Consciousness while being witnessed by another.
The practice will end just before the first full moon of the year/lunar new year (10 February) and the start of Lent (14 February).
I would share some of my prayer and/or manifesto, if they were done. I’m approaching their formulation as a process that doesn’t have to be all wrapped in a box with a big bow on top by the 1st.
No pressure. No activation of my inner striver who wants to bolster her self-esteem via outward approval by making a deadline. It’ll be what it’ll be.
First things first, I’ll finish the live session that I missed in the women of faith group to which I belong. It is from this group that the practice originated and some already commenced weeks ago.
This is one way I’ll winter, and it feels really right.
Truth be told, the essence of this practice is what my mentor has been pointing me towards all year long.
It’s repatterining how I support the unfolding of my dreams and longings by prioritizing daily melting my heart towards myself in order to feel cared for, expansive, and satisfied vs. doing “all the things” on the outside from a place of proving my worth, safety, goodness…
To help you create the condition to winter more intentionally, I have a simple offering below to connect with your food, the earth, that which steadies, calms, via your hands.
For now, happy wintering from me and the kitties! Tara
Gluten-Free Protein Breakfast Cookies
Typically when wintering, warm foods hit the spot for breakfast like porridge or eggs and veggies. On the occasion when you want something handy and easy to make to go with your coffee or tea like I did today, see below for what emerged from my kitchen. I’m sure that you could make it with only almond flour or sub oat flour for teff flour, other chopped nuts and/or seeds for the walnuts, as well as adding chopped dark chocolate, dried fruits like dates, vanilla… If making these truly for breakfast, lean towards less sugar, smaller portions, and more protein.
64 grams teff flour 64 grams almond flour 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar 2 egg whites Sugar or jaggery to taste Pinch of salt 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1/2-1 teaspoon cardamom (Feel it out!) 3 teaspoons melted coconut oil 1/4-1/3 cup chopped walnuts (Once again, feel it out!) Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit/180 Celsius/Gas Mark 3. I’m not usually one for following a precise order when it comes to mixing ingredients. Mostly, as in this case, it works for me and will for you too! Give it a good mix; get your hands in there and connect to your food! Bake ~8-10 minutes.
